History

William Heath Davis House

The William Heath Davis house resides in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. Having been shipped around Cape Horn and assembled in 1850, it is the district’s oldest surviving structure. It has housed many interesting people over the years, from the founder of San Diego, Alonzo Horton, to a German Spy and pre-civil war soldiers. At one time the house operated as a County Hospital. It was moved all over Downtown San Diego before settling down at 4th & Island in 1984.

We would like to thank the Gaslanp Quarter Historical Foundation

What a wonderful house! If you would like more information on how to join the Historical Society
