Unknown to Matthew at the time, he conducted his first EVP session in "the castle" at the age of seven by sneaking the cassette tape recorder his grandfather gave him for Christmas into the attic in an attempt of spirit communication.

Tom Foster | historian and investigator
Tom has accompanied the sdGH team on numerous historical investigations. He has vast knowledge of World War artifacts, and has worked with many historical societies. Tom was born in Orange County, California, and is now a resident of Miami, Arizona, a small copper mining community. His interest in in the unexplained and hauntings began early-on, living in a house that exhibited subtle, but classic signs of activity. Tom's interest grew and he photographed his first apparition in the summer of 1964. All of this came to an end one February night in 1968, involved in things for the wrong reasons. He was visited - a warning of sorts - and years passed before his courage returned, and his interest re-kindled.
Older now, and refocused, with interest in antiques, history, investigative research and restoration, he has again become somewhat active in researching and photographing places with reported activities and energies that reside in haunted locations.
Tom worked with Maritza on the Kate Morgan story for the Hotel Del Coronado. By finding the gun and ammunition that would have been used in that time period, he was able, with Maritza, to reconstruct some of the history of the Kate Morgan story.
