The San Diego Ghost Hunters || sdGH || Debunking a Demon

It eventually happens to every investigation team: The discovery of a photograph that creates a grand stir, be it a colorful moving non-dust / moisture-based orb, a disfigured face peeking from the corner of the frame or a colorful wisp of something or another emanating from a room known to be inhabited by the recently deceased. It's an image that deserves a second, third and fourth look as part of good evidence review.

This recently occurred to the sdGH team, resulting from the investigation of a historic ship. Unfortunately, its name and location must remain undisclosed. During the proceedings, the sdGH team snapped-off several hundred photos, many at random.

Later, as images containing nothing of paranormal interest were being set aside during evidence review, all came to a hard stop when sdGH founder, Maritza, exclaimed in a rather excited tone, "This is weird. Check it out!"

The photo in question found a cute but creepy little guy standing in a deck hallway complete with alien-like eyes, a teardrop-shaped head and long, thin arms with palms and fingers crossed near his chin staring back at us. Maritza's image below was shot in an area of the ship where a dark energy had been reported, thus we dubbed him "the little demon". Did we hit upon a holy grail of paranormal investigation?

Come on, admit it...you're kinda creeped out, too!

With apparitional images so rarely caught on camera, it was hard to believe this was the real deal. Hopefully, yes, but one has to be realistic. To resolve the mystery, an additional examination of the location and new comparison photos utilizing better lighting were in order.

Goodbye little demon...hello industrial hoses.

A good lesson for all conscientious investigation teams: One must never take potential evidence at face value. Work every angle before declaring an absolute. Your evidence is only as good as the review process.

Special thanks to investigator Dave H. for his photographic help.
