History The historical Old Town of San Diego, California
Historic Old Town is located within the heart of San Diego, California.
Old Town State Historic Park is where the city of San Diego began.
There are over 150 restaurants, shops, and historical sites. Historic
Old Town, the Birthplace of California, is definitely the place to
visit, for both locals and tourists. Upon entering this beautiful
historical community, you will be amazed at the History, Art, and
Culture. The museums, the shops, and the magnificent historic Victorian
homes, with their cobblestone roads will give you a nostalgic feeling
of days from long ago. Especially when you venture into the Old Town
State Historic Park with the 1800’s adobe casa gardens, breathtaking
lush flowers, and huge old trees under San Diego’s blue, sunny
skies. In 1846, a US Navy Lieutenant, along with a US Marine Lieutenant,
raised the American flag in the Old Town San Diego Plaza. |
